Universal church.

The word “Catholic” has a very interesting definition. Have a look then please continue reading, as I am going somewhere important with this. Pay a bit of extra attention to the last one. “of or relating to the Roman Catholic Church: including many different things; broad in sympathies, tastes, or interests; broad or wide-ranging in tastes, interests, or the like; having sympathies with all; broad-minded; liberal; universal in extent; involving all; of interest to all; *pertaining to the whole Christian body or church.” Are you noticing a theme here? The term ‘Catholic’ means universal, all encompassing, broad, wide etc. I have heard and seen many people say that there are many roads to God, meaning there is no one particular way to God or heaven. Here is a quote from someone and a verse to back it up.
“Biblical Christianity is not set by man’s rules, it is God who determines right and wrong, and He has told us in His word that it is exclusive: ‘Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:14′ “
Also: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6
And:“For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” 1 Timothy 2:5
*Unless you have been under a rock for the last few years, you will notice that many denominations, many churches, many different faiths and people are being seduced into thinking that the RCC is the one true Christian faith. The one true Christian faith that is all encompassing, universal and all accepting, no matter what you believe or do.Another term for it is ‘ecumenical’.
I have even been told that unless a person is a Catholic they are going to hell, especially anyone who claims to be a Christian.
This leads me to my next, extremely important point.
The last few weeks I’ve had the thought of a few verses coming to me (for want of a better term).
I have been thinking about how persecution is going to come from within the “Church”, not from the outside world like many think. Not that the world won’t persecute Christians, because it will, but there will also be professing Christians who will give up others ‘in the faith’ to be put to death. They will be thinking they are doing God’s work, but really they will be persecuting true Christians for Satan’s work.
“They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.” John 16:2
“Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” Matthew 24:9-12
“But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake.” Luke 21:12
With many things happening recently in the world where many religions, denominations and people are being led into the universal, all encompassing, ecumenical one world religion, it is only a matter of time before these verses will become a physical reality.
It has happened before in history and we know that history does repeat, especially if the Bible has foretold that it will happen.
If you are someone who has fallen for this ecumenical, broad path, universal, all encompassing “Church”, I urge you to read these verses (and more in the Bible) and see that you are falling for Satan’s trap. You could very well be the one that wrongly puts another person to death, and their blood will be on your hands, so to speak.
All roads do not lead to Rome, and all paths do not lead to God!

Which Jesus have you put your eternal faith in?

“For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.” M
ark 13:22
“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” Matthew 24:24
“As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” Galatians 1:9
God warns us that there will be false Christs in the world, and they will come with another gospel.
I was listening to someone in the car today and he was saying that these ‘false Christs’ aren’t men walking around on the earth in white robes claiming they are Jesus (although there are plenty of those)..
They are another Jesus of man’s own creation.
If the Jesus you believe in didn’t do it all on the cross (and is still hanging on the cross and needs be crucified time and time again), then the Jesus you have put your faith in is powerless and impotent and cannot save you, for he is not real. He is a false Jesus made up of man’s creation.
If the Jesus you have put your faith in says that you can be saved and then live a sinful life, then the Jesus you believe in is a false Jesus of man’s creation.
If you believe Jesus was/is a created being (even an ‘alien’), then you have put your faith in a false Jesus of man’s creation.
If the Jesus you believe in has feathers falling from the sky, gold teeth growing from out of nowhere and gems falling out of the air-conditioning ducts sky, then you are following a false Jesus, a Jesus of man’s own creation.
If the Jesus you believe in is a “consciousness”, then you are believing in a false Jesus of man’s creation.
If any Jesus you believe in isn’t the only begotten Son of God, then you have a false Christ.
As with anything good that God has done, Satan tries to counterfeit it, and Jesus is no exception.
If he (Satan) can fool people into believing in any of these false Christs, no matter how often they attend church, no matter how much they read their bible, or no matter how many good works they do, then he is happy, simply because he knows that these false Christs cannot save and people are believing in, and putting their eternal faith in, a lie.
I think many of us at some point in our walks with God have gotten things wrong, have had the wrong ideas about just who Jesus is and have done or said things that weren’t of God, but if they have, being led by the Holy Spirit, they will learn the truth and repent.
We can only learn of Jesus’ character, who He was and what He stands for in God’s Holy Bible.
It’s eternally imperative that you have placed your faith in the right Jesus, in the only begotten Son of God who died to save us from the penalty of our sins. Any other Jesus is false and will not, and cannot save you.
“And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” Mark 1:15

“And call no man your father upon the earth..”

I agree with this totally. It doesn’t get much clearer than this, and these scriptures are proof that the Catholic religion is dangerous. It is based on a false Christ.
If you are a Catholic, I urge you to read this I pray that the Lord will reveal His truth to you through this information.
It’s not too late to repent and turn to the true living Jesus who died to save us from the penalty of our sins.

“Here are a few things you may not have considered about Pope Francis when you are attempting to determine his religious authenticity as a man of God.

1. Pope Francis is an athiest. He doesn’t believe there is an Almighty God.

“Athiests acknowledge God through their good works, thereby redeeming their own souls.” Pope Francis

He claims that Jesus and Lucifer are both aliens, and that naive early man thought these beings were “gods” in error. The Vatican’s telescope, the third largest in the world is named “Lucifer”. The catholic church has requested the UN appoint an ambassador to alien life, and have even discussed the possibility of “baptizing” aliens.

2. If you notice in his speeches, he never says…..”God’s message to you is….”, but instead always says “MY message to you is…….”. He comes in his own name…..and not in the name of God.

John 5:43 I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

3. Pope Francis allows people to call him “holy father”, when this is forbidden by the scriptures.

Matthew 23:9. : for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

4. The catholic church is FULL OF GRAVEN IMAGES………..

Exodus 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

5. Pope Francis sits on a throne in the house of God with a crown on his head, allowing men to bow down before him. Even angels don’t allow men to bow down before them.

Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

6. Pope Francis claims the ability to forgive sins…………which is precisely what Jesus Christ was crucified for. Nobody is yelling for him to be stoned or crucified for his blasphemy……..

Mark 14:64 Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.

John 10:33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

Blasphemy is standard practice for Pope Francis………

Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

7. The Popes are titled as Vicars of Christ, aka God on earth, whose title adds up to 666 in Roman Numerals. Vicarius Filii Dei. This is really no different than the ancient Egyptian Pharoahs who claimed to be “gods on earth”.

Revelation 13:18. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

8. As Pope, Francis is the RICHEST MAN ON EARTH . . . The Vatican is ordained in gold, precious stones, and pearls. The priests wear purple and scarlet. While that snake is appealing to the people to GIVE to the church (for the poor) – he is sitting on the world’s largest stockpile of wealth. You could feed a third world country with the cost of his wardrobe alone.

Revelation 17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

The catholic church is guilty of abominations, and spiritual fornication. This means that they have more blood on their hands than Hitler…..and they are supposed to be a CHURCH – but they are warmongers and murderers. They proliferate weapons to promote war, and with their use of the Jesuit order – which is the military arm of the catholic church.

It’s because they serve the POPE. Their job is to inflict war and suffering, so the people will turn to the CHURCH and the POPE for answers and comfort…….and bring their MONEY into the church’s coffers. Sneaky suckers……….

9. It is FORBIDDEN to communicate with the dead….but it’s a regular practice in the catholic church to pray to dead people – Saints.

Deuteronomy 18:10. There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,

18:11. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

18:12. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

10. The catholic church lifts Mary above her son……praying to her, and considering her sinless. Mary was a sinner, and needed her Son to save her just like we need Him to save us. There is no instruction to pray to ANYONE in the scriptures except the Father…..and we also pray to JESUS, who is the Father in a human body.

Matthew 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

11. The catholic church sanctions repetitive prayers, and not prayers from the heart.

Matthew 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

They pray canned prayers, reciting mantras…….the rosary.

12. Catholics bow down to pray before images and statues…….IDOLS.

Leviticus 26:1 Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.” ”

(T. Boone)

Pray for those who are entrapped and deceived by this wicked system–that God would have mercy on them, open their eyes, lead them to repentance, and cause them to come out.

(I don’t agree 100% with Mr. Boone, but he presents a lot worth considering.)

Is God’s word really pure?

“The words of the LORD [are] pure words: [as] silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.” Psalm 12:6

“Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” Proverbs 30:5,6

If God isn’t powerful enough to keep at least one true translation of His word pure, then what kind of God is that?!
John says: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
So if this is to be believed, that Jesus is the word, and also God, and looking at the verses below, which state that He changes not, then doesn’t that mean that His pure word also cannot change?
“For I am the LORD, I change not; …” Malachi 3:6
“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” Hebrews 13:8

Saying that man, demonic powers etc can change God’s (true) word by whatever means, means that those things are more powerful than God, and we know that simply isn’t true.
And to say that the Bible can’t be trusted because it was written by men, but history books, newspapers and the like can be totally trusted is backwards thinking. If you believe men over God, then you have a problem.

Yes, man has changed God’s word through various different versions of the bible, and they have used corrupt (false) manuscripts as well.
But to say that God can’t even keep even one translation of the most powerful book in the history of mankind pure and exactly how He wants it, is to say that we do not have a reliable Bible to read, believe and obey.
If we do not have a reliable and true Bible to read, then what?!
If it has been changed, and there is no pure word of God, then we really have no reason to keep reading it and believing it and obeying it.
And for those people to continue to quote from these books that they say aren’t true doesn’t make sense to me.
If it has changed, or been changed, then it isn’t pure anymore and can’t be trusted or relied on.

These are just some of my thoughts on something I’ve seen on fb the last day or two. It is quite upsetting seeing these kinds of things happening in regards to God’s word.
I don’t know, maybe I’m over simplifying it by believing that those verses above are true. Maybe I’m missing something and am completely off the track.
It just seems to me that every other week there is a new thing happening to try to discredit the Bible, and we all know who is trying to do that. It doesn’t take a super spiritual or highly intelligent person to see that Satan is attacking God’s true word. It’s sad to see that people are succumbing to these doctrines of devils though.
It’s naive to think that he hasn’t already done damage in this area, and what I’m reading lately on fb just solidifies this for me. 😦

I say this not to bash anyone, or put anyone down, but to challenge the things they are learning through man, and not the Word of God. When we are too busy learning from man via youtube, fb, blogs, etc we can be easily swayed by these things.
“That we [henceforth] be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, [and] cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;” Ephesians 4:14

If we were to stick to God’s word, with the teaching of God’s Holy Spirit, then we really can’t go too far wrong. (And if we do, the Lord will show us and get us back on track if we are diligently seeking Him.)

Here are a couple of my previous posts about Bible versions.

Why I use the King Jame Bible

Help the brethren.

“Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” Matthew 25:34-40

I used to attend a church that was heavy on overseas missions. I spoke to the pastor one day about how many they support here at home, and while there are a few, they are all either established church or those who have been from that particular church.
There really seemed to be no desire to plant churches outside of their, for want of a better term, comfort zone. (I don’t say this to be harsh, I’m trying to get to a point.)
The missionaries they support are, by all accounts, doing a great job, and I’m not trying to detract from what they are doing, because generally they do it really tough and have their work cut out for them.

My concern, after reading a couple of things the last few days, has turned to those who are inside the church. How many churches focus on evangelising/witnessing to the unsaved, and making programs for them, tracts for them, sending ‘love packages’ to them, soup kitchens etc, but what about those who are doing it tough within the Body of Christ? They seem to be forgotten.

These verses above are about Jesus’ brethren, not the unsaved. I think we tend to get so comfortable in our status quo that we forget there are those within the Body who are suffering and need help.
From what I’ve seen, it’s generally only when there has been a tragedy or dramatic event in a person’s life that the Church rallies together and prepares meals, helps them in their homes etc. But what about day to day living for those who are disadvantaged in the Body?? There are those who are poor/broke, depressed through circumstances, having trouble with their families etc etc, but they seem to be forgotten or ignored.

This leads me to the next verses after the ones above.
“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.” 41-46

I’m not saying all this to ‘bash’ anyone, just to raise awareness that, while missionary programs are great, witnessing/feeding programs are great for the unsaved, we also need to remember that there are large numbers of our brethren that need help also.
It’s very convicting to me the next lot of verses, because I too have been guilty of not seeing the need within the Body of Christ. I don’t have much, but I would help how and when I could.

Should Christians read their stars?

In a word, NO! Let me tell you why, from an excerpt taken from page 16 of ‘Empires of The New Age’ by Paul deParrie and Mary Pride.

Astrology, the teaching that the stars in the sky guide our lives, is the most popular form of divination in the West. It is the gateway by which many enter the pagan religion. Like all other techniques for predicting the future, astrology puts Nature in control and dispenses with the sovereignty of God.

Divination is completely amoral. The stars never guide you to make righteous choices, or even hint that righteousness exists. The pervert and the upright all receive their readings on an equal basis.
The Bible prohibits astrology, absolutely and completely. In fact, part of the reason for God’s judgment of Babel was the tower built “unto the heavens”.

In ancient times, the future was divined by sheep livers and chicken entrails. The Babylonians devoted thousands of volumes to the “science” of liver divination. To them, these copious observations constituted the pinnacle of science. The number of followers of these practices today — at least in the West — in negligible. Tea-leaf diviners and palm readers, once so popular, are also now on the wane. Instead, the curious and serious both seem to favor Tarot cards and I Ching.

Paul deParrie is a former occult practitioner with a wide knowledge of classical paganism.”

Divination is described as being –

“1. The act of divining; a foretelling future events, or discovering things secret or obscure, by the aid of superior beings, or by other than human means. The ancient heathen philosophers divided divination into two kinds, natural and artificial. Natural divination was supposed to be effected by a kind of inspiration or divine afflatus; artificial divination was effected by certain rites, experiments or observations, as by sacrifices, cakes, flour, wine, observation of entrails, flight of birds, lots, verses, omens, position of the stars, etc.

2. Conjectural presage; prediction.”
It’s basically trying to tell a person’s future by various means. No person (astrologer, medium, psychic) or thing (nature, entrails, tea leaves etc) has the ability to know the future. Only God knows the future because He is the only one who knows all.
Believing that God has made these things to be used for divination is also wrong, because He hasn’t. We are to rely on God and God only to direct our steps, not tell us what’s going to happen in our future.

It is similar to getting prophecies from sources that aren’t of God.
“And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by **soothsaying:” Acts 16:16

**Soothsaying: Strong’s # G3132 – “μαντεύομαι manteúomai, mant-yoo’-om-ahee; from a derivative of G3105 (meaning a prophet, as supposed to rave through inspiration); to divine, i.e. utter spells (under pretense of foretelling:—by soothsaying. – to act as a seer, deliver an oracle, prophesy, divine.”

If you are a professing Christian, and consult ‘the stars’ to divine your future, you are going against the written word of God and you need to repent – understand what you are doing is sin against God, seek His forgiveness and stop. You are messing with the occult by doing it and it’s very serious. The Bible actually calls it an abomination.
“When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, **or that useth divination**, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.” Deuteronomy 18:9-12
Just because it’s in the Old Testament it doesn’t mean that God doesn’t still feel the same way about it!

Please, I urge you to stop because you are dabbling in the occult.

Fairies and Superheroes – Consistent with the Bible?

Did you know? Superheroes subliminally promote evolution.
Think about it – most of these superheroes have come from some sort of mutation, which has given them superpowers.
Evolutionists believe that mutations cause beneficial changes when in fact mutations can cause serious issues.
We are allowing them to idolise superheroes which underhandedly promote evolution, yet we are also teachingpics.jpg them that the Bible teaches that God created the world and all in it.
Is it any wonder that children, when they are old enough, leave the church, and or faith, because they have been brought up with two incompatible worldviews and see the hypocrisy in it all?
On one hand we are teaching them that fairies (witchcraft/magic) is perfectly acceptable, but we are also telling them that the Bible says magic/witchcraft is of Satan.
“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.” 1 Samuel 15:23
(Could allowing our children to believe in fairies and magic be causing a rebellious spirit within them?)
“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, WITCHCRAFT, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that ***they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God***.” Galatians 5:19-21 My emphasis added.
I’m going to step out on a limb here and say that celebrating things like Christmas/Easter/Halloween etc could be the same. On the one hand we are teaching them that it’s ok to take part in worldly (and sometimes evil) celebrations, yet the Bible says not to be like the heathen and not to celebrate pagan holy days.
Can we not see the damage we are doing to our children by not being consistent in our worldviews??!
We simply cannot have one foot in the world and one foot in the Bible, it just doesn’t work that way.
I know many may not agree with this, and I’m not saying any of this to “bash” anyone, but I’m simply trying to get people to see that sometimes we aren’t aware of what we are doing, because some things are so ingrained in our lives that we don’t realise what we are doing. We get taught these things as children so we don’t see anything wrong with it, therefore we continue to pass these things on down the generations without batting an eyelid, without realising what is happening. But there should come a point when we question all we have learned and see if what we are teaching our children is in accordance with God’s word.
If this has struck a chord with you, take it to the Lord in prayer, seek His wisdom and council about it and ask for Him to show you HIS truth.
Remember, His ways are not our ways and we sometimes don’t realise that we are doing things our way rather than His way.
“Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:7-9
I am including this link for information about fairies and why we shouldn’t allow our children to believe in them. I’m not promoting the whole website, just the information in this link.
Fairies, gnomes, elves and more.

Penance is not scriptural.

I was just doing a quick word search on the term ‘penance’ and was totally shocked by what I read.
I was going to do a quick post on facebook, but after reading what I did, I just know that it can’t be a quick post on verse comparisons and a quick definition comparison.
I have taken this information from a Catholic website and will endeavour to use the Bible to refute and prove that these Catholic rituals are unscriptural, wrong, and will not get a person into heaven.

Penance – Penitence or repentance, a virtue disposing a sinner to hatred of his own sin because it is an offence against God and prompting him to a firm purpose of amendment.

Sacrament of Penance – A sacrament of the New Law instituted by Christ in which the absolution of a priest, acting as judge, sins committed after Baptism are forgiven to a person who confesses them with sorrow and a purpose of amendment.

(Definitions from A Catholic Dictionary, 1951)”

First of all, they are correct in saying that the born again Christian should hate their own sin. If there is a love of sin there will be no conviction, or ignoring of conviction, and no desire to confess and repent. That’s about where the correct information stops.
Absolution of a priest is unbiblical. There is only one person who can forgive sins, and that is Jesus. There is only one person who Christians are to pray to as mediator and that is Jesus.
But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, Mark 2:10
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 1 Timothy 2:5

“Church Teaching on the Sacrament of Penance:

“Hence the Council of Trent declares: For those who fall into sin after Baptism the Sacrament of Penance is as necessary to salvation as is Baptism for those who have not been already baptised.” Catechism of Council of Trent, Sacrament of Penance
“The faithful must be fully aware that sin and its eternal punishment are remitted by the Sacrament of Penance if one makes proper use of it; (1)however the entire temporal punishment is very seldom taken away. This must be removed either by satisfactory works in this life or by the fire of Purgatory after death” Encyclical On Preparation for the Holy Year by Pope Benedict XIV, 1749
“Q: Why is a penance imposed in confession?
A: A penance is imposed because, after sacramental absolution which remits sin and its eternal punishment, there generally remains a temporal punishment to be undergone, either in this world or in Purgatory.” Catechism of St. Pius X, The Sacrament of Penance
(2)“Q: Is it a sin to transgress a Precept of the Church?
A: Knowingly to transgress a Precept of the Church in grave matter is a mortal sin
Q: Name the Precepts of the Church.
A: The Precepts of the Church are:
1. To hear Mass* on all Sundays and on Holy days of obligation. (Not in the Bible.)penance
2. To fast during Lent, on Ember Days and appointed Vigils, and not to eat meat on forbidden days. (Fasting is for spiritual strength, not for certain days/rituals.)
3. To confess our sins at least once a year, and to receive Holy Communion at Easter each one in his own parish. (Christians are to confess when convicted of sin, whether that be weekly, daily or hourly.)
4. To contribute to the support of the Church, according to local custom.
5. Not to solemnize marriage at forbidden times, that is, from the first Sunday in Advent until the Epiphany, and from the first day of Lent until Low Sunday” Catechism of Pius X, The Precepts of the Church” (Say what?)

1. The entire punishment is taken away.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
Note that it doesn’t say God will forgive our sins but then we have to do ‘works’ to make up for it after He has forgiven us. Purgatory is not in the Bible.
“As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.” Psalm 103:12
Jesus did it all on the cross, therefore we cannot contribute to our salvation nor make-up for our sins.
“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.” John 19:30

Jesus did not die on the cross because sinners sin against the Church, Jesus died because we sin against a holy and just God!
“Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight:” Psalm 51:4
(Exodus 10:16; Joshua 7:20; Judges 10:10 etc.)
All of the “precepts” of the “Church” mentioned here have nothing to do with God. They are all about the rules and regulations of the Catholic church, they seem to have forgotten God. It all sounds like an overbearing, controlling person (religion) who wants allegiance from his followers, not obedience to the Bible. I don’t mean to sound harsh here, but none of this is in the Bible – it’s all rules and regulations made up by man, not God.

There is no doubt that penance in general must be practiced by all Catholics as much as possible if we are to make up for our earthly offenses and attain Heaven. This has been a basic practice of the Catholic Church since Christ founded it.

As for the Sacrament of Penance, for those that sin after Baptism, it is our lifeline to Heaven. Since in some cases it is difficult to know whether we are truly in the state of grace, the Sacrament of Penance should be utilized very frequently (i.e. monthly or even more frequently)!”

Works (or trying to making up for sins) do not get anyone to heaven. Only Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross, and faith in that sacrifice, will get a person into heaven.
“By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once [for all].” Hebrews 10:10
“For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.” Romans 6:10
*Mass is unscriptural because it sacrifices Jesus again and again all the time. He only died once for sin. He is not still dead hanging on the cross either. Jesus is alive and cannot be killed nor sacrificed again.“I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” Revelation 1:18

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” 1 John 5:13
You may know you have eternal life (grace) by what Jesus did on the cross. If you are in doubt of this, you are doubting what Jesus did on the cross. If your Jesus didn’t do it all on the cross, you are believing in the wrong Jesus.
Jesus did not “found” the Catholic church. The true Church is the body of Christ.
The lifeline to heaven is Jesus, and Jesus only. No rituals, rosaries, penance, works etc will get a person into heaven.

If this is you, and you have been led to read this, I pray that you will truly seek Jesus while you still have time. He is waiting for you to come to him in godly sorrow and repentance.

Sleight of hand – in the church.

“13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we [henceforth] be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight* of men, [and] cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, [even] Christ:
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.” Ephesians 4:13-16
Have a look at verse 14 in particular. We heard this verse in the car today and it really stuck out to me with what it says, so I thought I’d do a bit of a word study on it.
*Sleight – Strong’s #2940 – artifice, fraud.
Webster’s 1828 dictionary – sleight – “1. An artful trick; sly artifice; a trictrickk or feat so dexterously performed that the manner of performance escapes observation; as sleight of hand.
Webster’s 1828 dictionary – “ARTIFICE, noun [Latin artificium, from ars, art, and facio, to make.] 1. Stratagem; an artful or ingenious device, in a good or bad sense. In a bad sense, it corresponds with trick, or fraud.”
As you can see here, artifice means a (deliberate) strategy to dupe someone.
This all suggests to me that these men in verse 14 have practiced and perfected trickery and deceit in order to deliberately deceive people.
It’s kind of like an illusionist who does the most amazing tricks, but that’s all they are, tricks. The good, successful illusionist has practised and perfected his craft so that nobody can tell what he’s doing.
The people who watch are tricked into believing it is magic, amazing and astounding. They are meant to dazzle and amaze people, but in reality it’s nothing more than careful planning and props that fool people.
So don’t be fooled. Satan has set people up in churches, on facebook, in blogs, in friends, in publishing Bible versions, in music, movies etc to deliberately deceive and divert people away from God’s saving truths.
Those who love truth will seek it, but those who don’t will be swayed by anything and anyone.
This is why we need to warn others, so that they will not be the ones who are tricked. Too many people are putting their trust in the wrong people, in the wolves in sheep’s clothing, and they need to be warned.

“And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling [them] out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.” Jude 1:22,23

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14

Playing cards – a tool for divination.

I know this may seem a little “out there” or far fetched to many of you, but as I was replying to a comment on this (I shared this on facebook and was replying to someone’s comment), a memory came back to me.
It was when I was a young girl and my grandpa (who by the way was a Druid, which I found out after he died) used to do this ‘game’  where he would draw 4 cards and depending on how they turned up (either upside down or not) and what number it was, was the meaning of the draw. It was a form if divination. For example, the ace of spades pointing towards you meant a death, or the same card pointing away from you meant pregnancy or birth. Or if the 9 of hearts was drawn it meant, if I recall correctly, love or marriage. Think of tarot cards, which are a tool for divination, or telling the future, which is of course an abomination to God.

Now that I think of it, it could be one of the things that drew me into the occult when I got older. (I was involved in witchcraft or wicca, which is supposedly white magic, which is still magic and therefore still an abomination to God. I was also into horoscopes, psychics, tarot cards etc.) There could very well have been a spirit attached to him doing the divination of them which ‘attached’ itself to me. If you don’t think there is such a thing, then you need to read Acts 16:16: “And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:”

So in saying all this, please read this quote below prayerfully and with an open mind to realising that playing cards could go against God’s word and be a sin. If you are convicted through this post, please don’t ignore it. It is something you will have to repent of and stop doing, because it has a spiritual, for want of a better word, attachment.
If playing cards were originally created to be used for divination, do you really want them in your home? (See verses below.)cardss.jpg

“Hidden Meanings of Playing Cards

Don’t take those playing cards for granted. Take a break from blackjack and baccarat and learn a bit of playing cards’ history below.
Playing Cards, the Suits and the Four Elements

As you know, a single deck is divided into four suits: spades, hearts, clubs and diamonds. These four suits are known as swords, cups, wands and pentacles. They correspond to the four elements: fire, water, air and earth. These have hidden meanings that some people believe in.

Here are the correspondences of the playing cards’ suits:

Spades Swords Fire Hearts Cups Water Clubs Wands Air Diamonds Pentacles Earth

Meanings of the Suits and Elements

The four elements were believed to be the creator of the universe. Everything was said to have come from the activities of the elements. Fire came first, and then water, air and finally earth.
The four elements were connected to the “humors” by the ancients. These humors have meanings related to the human personality.

*Fire / Swords / Spades symbolize willpower, courage, strength and other masculine qualities.
*Water / Cups / Hearts stand for love, emotions, imagination and the subconscious. These are feminine qualities.
*Air / Wands / Clubs represent mind, speech and words. These are neutral qualities.
*Earth / Pentacles / Diamonds signify wealth and matter.

The face cards also carry the traits of their elements. Court cards of the fire element signify men and women of action; those of water are sensitive and benevolent people and so on.

Numbers on the Playing Cards
Even numbers have meanings ascribed to them.

Number One or Ace represents beginnings, fresh ideas, new ventures, etc.
Number Two is duality, love and partnership.
Numbers Three is the number of fate and “karma” and the planet Saturn.
Number Four is completion and the material world, of wisdom and of Jupiter.
Number Five is said to be the number of man (half of ten, number of the universe) and Mars.
Number Six is a number of the divine and the Sun.
Number Seven is the number of love and Venus.
Number Eight is the number of intellect. Eight is also double the number four, meaning the positive and negative qualities of the four elements. Mercury rules this number.
Number Nine is the number of the soul and the Moon.
Number Ten is the number of the whole world, of Earth.
When a card’s number is combined with its suit, it takes on a unique meaning used in divination. Divination is the art of obtaining answers from some method such as drawing from playing cards.

This is a brief survey of the mystical significance of playing cards that some people believe in. While it is not useful for gambling, it is good to know the history and origin of the playing cards we now use and enjoy.” [end quote]

Just because these verses are in the Old Testament it doesn’t mean that God has changed how He feels about them. They are still an abomination to Him.
“When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you [any one] that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, [or] that useth divination, [or] an observer of times,or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.” Deuteronomy 8:9-11

“Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.” Deuteronomy 7:26
