Does God have “do’s and don’t’s”?

dos
“For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” Romans 13:9

I read something the other day about this subject, so I thought I’d just do a brief ‘opinion post’.

I’m sure there are plenty of people who think that I post nothing but “do’s and don’t’s” both on here and on my facebook page. And yes, that would be true from time to time. lol
But there is a difference between doing and not doing when it comes to salvation.
If you are relying on your ‘doing or not doing’ to save you, then you will be sorely disappointed when the Lord tells you that you won’t make it into heaven, because it isn’t out ‘deeds’ nor ‘works’ that save us, but faith in Christ’s finished work of the cross.
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but >>he that doeth the will of my Father<< which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name >>done many wonderful works<<?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23
A born again Christian knows that their deeds and works will never save them, but they understand that God has plenty of “do’s and don’t’s” in His word. A born again Christian will also try to obey those commands out of reverential love for Him, because they know that God has rules for our own good, and ultimately His glory.
Much like we stop on a red light, and go on a green light, God has similar commands in His word.
But again, if you are following those commands believing that they will save you, you are going about it the wrong way.
First comes salvation, then comes obedience to God’s word out of love for Him.
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10

Slain in the spirit.

slain1.jpg

This is just going to be a quick post about being “slain in the spirit” and how it isn’t from God the Holy Spirit.
I will take a quick look at what this means, and will include a post by someone else who goes into detail with scripture to back up why this is unbiblical. I will also link to a previous post of mine with some youtube clips.

First of all, I need to say that I was involved in a ‘home church’ type of group where weird manifestations happened, and I was nearly ‘slain’ twice, so I am not just speaking from a place of ignorance. I am speaking through personal experience. But don’t take my word for it, read on and read the post and look into the Bible yourself. Ask the Lord to reveal HIS truth to you, not man’s. Look into the history of where this movement came from yourself and hopefully the Lord will reveal to you why this is the counterfeit work of the Enemy.

First of all, a few definitions. The first quote is from a comment on the post I will link to down the bottom.  It absolutely hits the nail on the head!
“Slain in the Spirit = murdered in the spirit…. who wants to die in the Spirit? We are to LIVE by the Spirit not DIE.
Drunk in the Spirit? We are not supposed to get drunk why would the true Spirit teach us something CONTRARY to the New Testament?

The person has made an excellent point, so I thought I’d look into it some more.
The definition of “slain” –
> “Webster’s 1828 Dictionary
Slain. SLAIN, participle passive of slay; so written for slayen. Killed.”
> “to kill violently, wantonly, or in great numbers”

I thought I’d also look up the word ‘drunk’ as well. Interesting.
> “dominated by an intense feeling
(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)” 2 Corinthians 5:7
“For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” Romans 1:17
We are not to have a faith based on emotions or feelings, but faith.

> The first case of intoxication on record is that of Noah (Genesis 9:21). The sin of drunkenness is frequently and strongly condemned (Romans 13:13; 1 Corinthians 6:9, 10; Ephesians 5:18; 1 Thessalonians 5:7, 8). The sin of drinking to excess seems to have been not uncommon among the Israelites.
> ” Intoxicated; inebriated; overwhelmed or overpowered by spirituous liquor; stupefied or inflamed by the action of spirit on the stomach and brain. It is brutish to be drunk”
(I guess they call liquor ‘spirits’ for a reason.)

So, to be slain in the spirit is to be killed in the spirit. Did you get that? To be slain in the spirit is to be KILLED in the spirit! Read it again and really let it sink in.
What does the Bible say that God does to our spirits?
“For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth [them]; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.” John 5:12
(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.” Romans 4:17
God does not kill our spirits, He quickens them, or makes them alive.
> Quickeneth/quickens – “Primarily, to make alive; to vivify; to revive or resuscitate, as from death or an inanimate state.”

If this doesn’t make you sit up and take notice, then I truly don’t know what will.
I implore you, if you have had this happen, or if you do this to others, you need to repent. You need to confess this as sin and ask the Lord’s forgiveness and deliverance. (And no, I don’t mean deliverance as a type of exorcism, I’m talking true deliverance from Jesus.) This is not a small thing, this is a huge thing.
Also, if you do this to others, you will have to answer for every single person you have done this to. This is giving credit to the Holy Spirit for something that the Enemy is doing. Please repent.

Another thing..“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance*: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22,23
*Temperance means ‘self control’. (More definitions below.)

If one of the fruits of the spirit is self control, why would God’s ‘spirit’ cause people to act as if drunk or high on drugs, laugh uncontrollably, writhe around without any control, shake and convulse uncontrollably, or make weird animal sounds uncontrollably etc etc?
Why would God allow one of His children to lose complete control of themselves while being “slain in the spirit” when one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit indwelling the Christian is self control??
It flies in the face of and goes in complete contradiction to His word!

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles* of the devil.” Ephesians 6:11
*Wiles – ” A trick or stratagem practiced for ensnaring or deception; a sly, insidious artifice.
The Enemy is out to trick as many people as he can to get them away from the truth. Don’t be one of them.

WILE, verb transitive To deceive; to beguile.”

Temperance – again, ‘self control’.
“1. Moderation; particularly, habitual moderation in regard to the indulgence of the natural appetites and passions; restrained or moderate indulgence; as temperance in eating and drinking; temperance in the indulgence of joy or mirth. temperance in eating and drinking is opposed to gluttony and drunkenness, and in other indulgences, to excess.
2. Patience; calmness; sedateness; moderation of passion.”

Here is a post that explains it so much better than I. I urge you to read it and ask the Lord to open your eyes and heart to the truth.

Is karma a good thing?

“Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.” Luke 15:10

Hopefully nobody who reads this page is a subscriber

kar

of the whole ‘karma’ thing, but I’m going to do a post about it nonetheless.

Karma is actually a Buddhist thing if memory serves, and they believe that if they have failed in this life, they have to come back again (after they have died) and try again. If they fail the next time, they have to come back and try again, and so it goes until they get it right. Once they get it all right, and pass this test we call life, they reach nirvana.

Most people these days see ‘karma’ as people receiving good or bad things depending on their actions.
For example, if someone steals a phone from a person, their friends will say something like ‘karma will get them’, or something similar.
They wish bad will befall the person who has done bad.

This is how I see it is a major problem. The people wishing bad karma on someone have put them in the place of God and have pronounced judgment upon someone and declared that they need punishing by way of ‘karma’ or bad things.
You will find that many of these people also believe in good karma, so good things come to those who do good things, but more often than not you see it used with the negative connotation.
Are these people then not part of the problem, wishing evil to befall others? Are they not perpetuating ‘bad karma’, ‘bad luck’, ‘negative energy’ and the like?

This is also akin to the ‘works based salvation’ that so many people, religions and denominations believe in. If you are good you will go to heaven, but if you are bad you will go to hell.
Again, people have made themselves a god and decide if what they do is good or bad. They think that just because they haven’t robbed a bank, killed someone, committed any kind of crime etc that they will go to heaven, but God’s word says that even hating someone in your heart is like murder, so His standards are much higher than ours.
“For my thoughts [are] not your thoughts, neither [are] your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8,9

I don’t know about you, but I would rather that someone who has done the wrong thing comes to that realisation and doesn’t do it again. I don’t want bad things to happen to them, there is enough bad in the world as it is.
Is it not more important that a person feels the sting of conviction for what they have done and try to make amends rather than wishing evil (karma) upon them?

Just my 2c worth.

God’s word is a sword, not a feather.

feather

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12

“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” 2 Timothy 4:2-4

Those who preach are to preach the true word of God to: reprove, rebuke and exhort, not to tell people what they want to hear and water down God’s word in order to keep ‘bums on seats’ and make people feel good. Nobody comes to the knowledge of repentance when they are made to feel that their sins are ok and acceptable to God because He “loves” them.
“What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.” Romans 7:7

Those who do that will be answerable to God as to why they did this.

Are you a Cain or an Abel?

cain-abel-sacrifices

“3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.” Genesis 4:3-7

In my understanding these verses show the consequences of Cain coming to God in his own way, in his own wisdom.
He has offered God what he wants, not what God specified.

How often do we do what Cain did? How often do we come to God on our own terms rather than His terms?

Just look at Christmas and Easter as a examples. Nowhere does God tell us to decorate trees or eggs as an offering to Him; nowhere does God tell us to buy and swap presents with others as an offering to Him; nowhere does God tell us to borrow elements from the heathens to give as an offering to Him.
What does He ask of us? What does God say is an acceptable offering to Him?
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1

How does God tell us to remember Him and point others to Christ? Is it with nativity scenes, bunnies, hams, tinsel? No.
“After the same manner also [he took] the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink [it], in remembrance of me.
26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.” 1 Corinthians 11:25, 26

Let us remember that the account is a shadow of Jesus to come. It points to the presentation of Jesus as a living sacrifice which was holy and acceptable to God.
So let us approach God how HE tells us to rather than in our own ‘wisdom’ and logic. Let us not be like Cain, but like Abel, who did as God required.D

***Here is a good read as well. This person goes into much more detail than I about the same thing. It’s a must read whether you celebrate Christmas or not.

Jesus or Santa? (2 Timothy 4:4)

The picture on the left says under the Santa: “Keep the MERRY”, and under the Jesus it has “Dump the MYTH.”  *I know it isn’t a picture of the real Jesus, but the purpose of this picture is to make my point.

As Christians, the Bible tells us to follow the Truth, and that Truth is Jesus Christ, the One who died to pay the penalty for the world’s sins so we could be reconciled with God.
When we add things like Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy (any fairies), superheroes etc we are adding fables.
“And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” 2 Timothy 4:4
“Not giving heed to Jewish fables and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.” Titus 1:14
“For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.” 2 Peter 1:6
“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” 3 John 1:4

Looking at the photo above it is clear to see that the world’s Jesus is actually Santa.
I have a comparison below that should highlight to you the brilliant counterfeit that the world has adopted as their own saviour.
I urge you, if you are a professing Christian, and teach your children about Santa as well as Jesus, that you are doing them a disservice.
I have heard people say that it encourages their child’s imagination, but really it’s teaching them fables, which we are warned about in God’s word. There are much better, and actual true accounts in the Bible that will ignite their imaginations much better. Think of the three men in the furnace who didn’t get burnt up,  or Daniel in the lion’s den, or David slaying the giant, or the dragons/dinosaurs (I believe there were even fire breathing ones) etc. These stories don’t just fire up the imagination, they are true historical accounts and show God’s glory. What better foundation can children have?

  24. Santa says “Ho, ho, ho”.
I don’t take credit for this comparison as I found it some years back.
If I were still celebrating Christmas and teaching my children about Santa, this would be very convicting to me.

I urge you to seriously consider this information, pray about it and seek the Lord on the matter. What we do on earth now has consequences, either good or bad, in eternity.

Doctrine does matter.

THIS IS (one of the reasons) WHY THE DOCTRINE A PERSON BELIEVES **DOES** MATTER!!

“They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.” John 16:2,3

Persecution is going to come from with the “church”.
These people believe they are saved but aren’t truly born again. They do not know God, yet they believe that killing true Christians is doing God a favour. Little do they know that their god is a false god and they will be the ones who end up in hell. 😦

This is one of the reasons I believe we need to make sure of our standing in Christ.
Examine ourselves and see if we be in the faith, for if we have not the doctrine of Christ we do not have God. We may not think we would do this (turn anyone in or kill them), but look at Peter who said he wouldn’t deny Christ!
“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. …” 2 Corinthians 13:5
“Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God.
He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.” 2 John 1:9-11

Do you really want to fellowship with just anyone who claims to be a Christian with these warnings, knowing that they could be the very ones who turn you in and or kill you??
I know I don’t, which is why I try to find out a person’s doctrine before I will get too deeply involved in biblical fellowship with them.

This is also why I don’t just blindly follow anyone who claims to be a Christian ‘author, singer, preacher, healer, prophet’ etc etc.
It’s just not worth it.
It really is time to stop being naive and just believing anyone who speaks about Jesus, or God or spiritual matters, because there are false Christs that people have put their faith in, and those Christs will not save them because those false Christs aren’t real and did not live a sinless life in order to pay the penalty for their sins.
It’s time to stop listening to people just because they mention a ‘God’. All religions have a ‘god’, but they aren’t all the God that created the universe and all in it. Those gods didn’t send their only Begotten Son to die for the sins of the world.
New agers speak about spiritual matters all the time, but their spiritual realm is the demonic realm because they channel demons.

I really care that people are blindly following others and not checking their doctrine, because we are quite clearly told that those who do not have the doctrine of Jesus Christ, the only Begotten Son of God have not God. They are not saved. They are speaking of false Christs and false gods.
It really is time to be careful about whom we let into our minds, hearts and homes.doctrinematters

My thoughts on ‘The Shack’.

The world will tell you that there is no real gender, that we aren’t born with a definite gender and we can choose what we want to be.

shack
I believe the book/movie The Shack is the bridge that is crossing that agenda over into ‘Christianity’, and undiscerning Christians are going to fall for it and be swayed. It is being done by having people pre-conditioned by the “gender fluid” agenda that has been in the media the last few years and it is being done subtly, just like Satan did with Even in the Garden of Eden.
‘Did God say you will really die if you eat from this tree?’ said Satan then.
‘Is God really a man and not a woman, or both, or neither?’ Satan is saying now.

‘The Shack’ is feminising God and giving Him no gender, or more than one gender, whereas in the Bible God (Father), Jesus (Son) and the Holy Spirit are all masculine titles.
Don’t be fooled, it’s not as innocent as you might think. It is gearing people up to believe on a false Christ, one that will be coming soon and will deceive many, even many seemingly strong Christians.
Please, don’t just brush this off as me being legalistic, it’s got to do with your eternal future. If you are following after, and beli
eving on a false Christ, you will not be saved and you will not spend eternity in heaven with the Real Saviour.

Let us not forget who runs Hollywood/movie studios either. They are not Christians. Do you really expect Hollywood to make truly biblical movies? Of course not, because they are anti-Christ. They promote sin, they sell sin and you are falling for it by giving them your money to watch movies that go directly against all that God stands for.
Would God want you spending the money He so graciously allows you to have on movies that glorify sin and blaspheme Him?

It really is time for us to be taking a stand in these matters and not allowing ourselves to be deceived by the Enemy.
It’s time to remove the blinders, cry out to the Lord and pray and ask for His wisdom and discernment in all things!

Iron sharpeneth Iron.

“Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” Proverbs 27:17iron

When I think of this verse I think of a butcher. Having worked in a butcher shop when I was younger, I used to see them sharpening their knives with the ‘steel’ as it was called.
When the knife was found to be not as sharp as it ought to be, and not cutting the meat as well as it should be, the butcher will sharpen it on his steel, then it will work as needed.

I believe this is how Christians are meant to be sharpening each other.
When one Christian sees that another isn’t quite ‘sharp’ enough, the other is supposed to come alongside them and help sharpen them.
We all have had different journeys to where we are in the Lord and sometimes we may miss something that the Lord has shown someone else (and vice-versa), and this is where the ‘sharpening’ comes in. The other person is then to explain the situation and help the other sharpen their whatever it is tha
t the Lord wants sharpening so that He can use them in a different, better way.
It could be something like sharpening up our discernment, our prayer life, our servanthood etc. If God sees that we are a bit blunt in one area of our life, He will send someone in to be the sharpener.
But, the very important thing not to miss here is that both people need to be willing and able to be the sharpener and or the sharpened.
On one hand, the person that the Lord has shown something needs to be willing and able to be the ‘steel’, the sharpener, and on the other hand, the other person needs to be willing and able to be sharpened. If we are not willing to be either, then we cannot be used as well as we ought for God’s purposes and plans.

If we are not willing to be sharpened, then we really are saying ‘no’ to God. We are refusing to allow ourselves to be rebuked, corrected and then used by the Lord. We put ourselves above God and make ourselves our own god when we do this.

Are you willing and able?

COME OUT NOW!

I really just don’t know what to say, and how to say it.
I feel this so strongly right now and I ache for this.

I feel terribly and horribly scared for those people who are following, and even idolising, people like Trump (even going to so far as to label him a kind of saviour of America), the Pope, the myriad false teachers we see on tv and the internet, and hang on every word they say, and promote them as upstanding Christians.
(I have some good friends w
ho are like this and I just am so worried for them, but whenever I try to say anything, I’m pretty much told not to be judgmental, that we can’t judge a person’s heart, we are to just love them. 😦 )

Nothing could be further from the Truth.
Please, it’s time to wake up people and see what’s truly going on. I honestly believe that this is all a lead up to deceiving people to follow the ‘one world religion’. It is being pushed as “unity”, “peace”, (false) “love”, “hope” etc etc.

It’s time to wake up and PRAY AND ASK THE LORD FOR HIS DISCERNMENT!!
Your eternal future is at stake and if you are not ‘in’ the doctrine of Christ, you are in the wrong one and you don’t have God.
“Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into [your] house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.” 2 John 1:9-11
By following these unsaved people masquerading as Christians (wolves in sheep’s clothing) you are allowing them into your home, into your temple, which is your spiritual home and you are bidding them God speed. You are partaking in their evil deeds!!

I feel like weeping because of all this deception. So many people are being fooled becaushelle they are believing in a false doctrine of false love and unity and peace.

IT’S TIME TO COME OUT OF HER, NOW!!
” And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.” Revelation 18:4,5

Notice it says “MY” people? God is telling HIS people, His children to come out of this godless thing.
COME OUT NOW!
