Pray for Discernment.

dicernment
In these increasingly dark times, we need to be on our guards more than ever.
If you don’t have discernment, PLEASE, pray for it every day.
It’s something that someone taught me a while ago, and now it’s something I do almost every day. (Occasionally, when I’m really tired I forget, but I usually do it with my first prayer in the morning.)

We need to be alert and vigilant, because Satan is roaring around seeking whom he can devour.

There are two sides to the spiritual realm and one is trying to rob, kill and destroy, and Christians are his main target.
Satan hates God and he hates God’s children. Don’t fall victim to ANY of Satan’s deceptions and lies.

I can’t stress enough that we are in a SPIRITUAL WAR and he will use any tactics to make us stumble and fall.
And yes, some Christians will fall for it.
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;” 1 Timothy 4:1

Christians, we need to test the spirits and make sure they are from God. If whatever you are hearing DOES NOT line up with the bible, it is NOT from God.
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1

I am not saying this because I think I’m better or smarter than anyone else, or more discerning, or even to have a go at people.
I’m saying this because I’ve had people teach me, and I feel the need to tell others, as there are far too many people that fall for these false apostles/prophets/healers etc.

Call me a sceptic, but I don’t trust any of them. I’ve seen and been on the receiving end of too many false healings and false apostles.

Heavenly Father, please give us all wisdom, discernment and the ability to test the spirits each and every day.
Also Father, please help each and every one of us to get stuck into your word more and more so that we can know what you expect of us and what we need to be on the lookout for.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

  1. Amen! There are two types of discernment. One, the discerning os spirits, which is a gift if the Spirit mentioned in 1Corinthians12 ;and two, the discernment that cimes from becoming skilful in the Word of righteousness ~ Hebrews5. The former the Holy Siprit gives as He wills; the latter we develop as we learn more and more of what God has revealed in His Word. In 1Kings3, Solomon asked for a sword to divide a baby in order to ascertain which of two women was the infant’s true mother. He had asked for wisdom from God to be able to discern between good and evil. The sword was his instrument. We likewise have a sword, the sword of the Spirit, which us the Word of God. With it we can divide between good and evil. It is quick and poewrful and sharper than any two-edged sword; it divides between soul and spirit, joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents if the heart.

Isaiah8:20 ~ To the law and to the testimony (ie the Word): if tgey speak not according to this word it is because there is no light in them.

If its not according to the Word its not God.
2Timothy3:16-17~ All scripture is given by insipration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man (or woman) of God may be perfect (or mature) , thoroughly furnished unto all good works

Keep growing in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

  2. Hi Melanie. Thanks for reading the blog. 🙂

You said “If its not according to the Word its not God.” Amen. If it’s not from the bible it’s not from God as far as I’m concerned. If someone ‘think’s or ‘believes’ something and can’t back it up with scriptures, then I generally take it with a grain of salt.
